Default I am such a bum!

I have been such a bum for weeks it seems.  I *really* dislike the holidays.....now they're over.  We've had one nasty cold virus after another around here. Kennedy has her first FULL-FLEDGED ear infection.  I have no motivation. I feel like a big blob of lazy.  I haven't cooked for days...we're all just scavaging for dinner. My house is a wreck.

I want to participate in a few of the challanges here, but I feel like I should get things back in order before I allow myself any fun-time.

I am at a loss.   I've re-vamped my chore list for the next year & printed out 2006's calendar, thinking that'd get me "in the mood" for being a productive human being.

So anyway, enough of my pity party.........

what brings the motivation back for you all when you're just "out of gas"?

I find reading some uplifting bible verses helps and I put on some upbeat music and start cleaning. If I have some fun and up music on I can get more cleaning done and I actually enjoy it more.

I hope that you get to feeling better soon .

Get a good nights rest, get up at a decent hour and have your coffee (or breakfast or tea) and TAKE A SHOWER and put on comfy clothes, (not pj's). Put on some good music and start in the area that will make the most effect the quickest, that will encourage you to keep going. Remember to take pride in your home. It's your nest. You can do it!!!

If you have been sick and caring for sick children then that is your job right now!

I try and have some frozen meals in the freezer for times like that!

I can get really low at times too and some of things I do to help me get over the hump are-
prayer, reading to my children, putting on some favourite music, a cup of tea outside (any weather......it is quiet outthere ) on my porch, cuddling my pets,.......

your children are still little it does get easier once they are a bit older. I now get my children to pitch in and so cleaning gets done far quicker even if it got out of hand. I tell them "if they want to do....... then they better help me..........so that I will have time to do what they wanted to do" . It works like a charm.

What helps me is to start back small, little spurts of 5 min of cleaning all add up to things done. Also taking a nice shower, doing my nails and making myself look pretty makes me feel better...everything eventually falls back into place when I take the pressure off myself.
Hope you are taking it one thing at a time and finding yourself getting back to your happy spot.

I've always gone through those times as well. What I do is spend some time praying, write down my goals, make myself start cleaning....usually with some really loud music going, get the laundry caught up (that alone depresses me when it's piled up!) and cook something for dinner. The next day I do the same and it gets easier day by day. Hope you find your groove again soon.

I always tell myself that I only have to do one small thing (like empty the dishwasher or clean the litterbox) and that if I just do one things then I can stop and rest. Most of the time I find myself more motivated and I'll do two or three things, but if I only do the one and stop I know that its my body's way of telling me that I need rest.

This might sound wierd but there is a subliminal tape at www.innertalk.com titled "Neat and Tidy" that a lot of women swear by. Its worked for me. One 73 year old woman says in her testimonial that she listened to it twice, cleaned her house, made her bed and took out the garbage and had to stop listening to the tape before she became exhausted! It gets your house clean and if your children hear it they'll more than likely help you clean! The tape is $20, the CD is $28.
