Anyone not drive a car or start driving later than most people?
I didn't start driving til I was about 23-24 because I was afraid to. Now I'm so glad I've learned even thought I avoid driving in snow and unformiluar territory. I'm getting better with driving unchartered territory especially if I have a co-pilot.

I got my driver's license when I was 16. I'll drive in any type of weather, other than icy roads. I don't like driving though in a large city, such as Toronto and yet when I lived in Winnipeg (700,000) I drove everywhere.
I love driving and always have.

I've been driving since I was, shhhh, 14! I had a bad wreck, I was a passenger, when it was raining and I am terrified to be in the car now while it is raining. I have never driven in the snow or on ice!! Too scary!

I always said I didn't want to drive- it is too huge a responsibility, but I lived in a small town where there weren't many job opportunities, and I wanted to be able to drive the 7 minutes to school rather than being on a bus for 50-60 minutes, so I got my license as soon as I could.
I drove all over the capital district going to patients' homes before I went to second shift (after dd,) sometimes driving in three counties in one day for work (Which is funny, because now I drive through 3 counties just to get to work!) Anyway, I can drive just about anywhere now and know my way around an atlas.

Im 21 now, and Ive had my license since i was 18... ive driven a car, since i got my license, a total of maybe 5 times... alone, like or 3 times... im just not a fan of driving at all... but theres certain places i would be willing to drive to, but hubby and i only have one car, and im extra sensitive to light so i cant drive at night, which is when the car would be available for me...

Didn't take my test and get a license till I was 26 and only then because I was getting married so couldn't ask my 'husband to be' to take me round to wedding shops and spoil the suprise.
I grew up in the UK and we always always lived near public transport. My parents never had a car either.
When I came to the US 6 years ago I didnt drive for about 2 years (lived in Boston - again public transport). Since moving to Maine I have had to get used to driving A LOT - in fact everywhere I need to go.
For a long while I commuted from my home in Maine to work in Boston (2.5 hours each way) and so got used to driving in blizzards, storms, icy conditions, fog - you name it - I had no choice. This is one bonus of losing my job - no more commute.

I got my license when I was 16 but I rarely drove (family only had one vehicle) Here's the sad part: I was 20 before I pumped a single tank of gas!
Even now I don't like to do it.

My dad would let my brother & I drive back roads to friends homes and to the local store when we were 15 & 16 (In Arkansas) I took my written test at 16 and failed it ...Dad got so mad he wouldnt take me back for another test.
I moved back to Texas at 18 and got my license then. Having anxiety made it difficult to drive in certain places, but I'm 35 now and its getting much better....still won't drive in Houston tho

I didn't get my license until I was 21. It was Christmas break of my senior year of college, and I knew that I would need to be able to drive to get to whatever job I got when I graduated. I can remember that I had a drivign school take me to do the road test, and of the 4 kids in my group I was the only one who was 21 - so mine was the only license that did get the "under 21" sticker on it!
I never got my license earlier because all my friends were older than me and they all had their licenses. In college I lived on campus.
If I had to do it again, I would have gotten my license at 16 just for the insurance rates. In MA, I paid $2900 my first year just for being a new driver. This year (with 5 years of a clean driving record) I'm paying around $1000.Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)

I have been driving since I was about 17 or 18, but I never got my license until I was 25, and only because my DH was leaving the country for 6 weeks and I had to get the kids to their dr appointment, shop, you know live.... LOLOLOL.... My DH had no problem driving me to and from work, since we only had one car... It made it easier for him to keep the car.
