Do you own fine china?
If so, what is your pattern and brand. If you can, attach a photo of it.http://www.ross-simons.com/perl/rssh..._FAMILY=LXCOPI
When I got married, I registered for Lenox Opal Innocence. So far, I've used it about 3 times. I'd like to use it more.
I also purchased from an estate Wedgwood Alpine Pink. It's a pattern from the 30's. It's a plain design and is a light pink.
I have a couple other paterns; again, purchased from an estate. I've used one of them, but so far I haven't used the other. I'm thinking about selling one of the patterns. I went through a china collecting stage several years back.

Yep, we have fine china. I absolutely did not want to register for it, but my mother insisted. So, we have a china cabinet full of china that we have used exactly once in the 7 years we've been married.

I love dishes. I'd like to use my fine china once a week for a special meal. My problem is storage. I don't have a china cabinet, but I did buy two small buffets that I plan to put in the basement. If I could get to it more easily, I'd probably use it more.

I have my Granny's dishes that my Uncle David brought her from Germany. Mom says its china, but I don't know. We eat off of my 3 sets of Corelle dishes every day.
My MIL wants to give me a set of china, but I don't think we'd ever use it. She is also sending me a set of crystal.

We did not register for any when we married. Now I'm collecting blue and white china, especially Blue Nordic (also called Blue onion) by J & G Meakin and Blue Countryside by Wedgwood. I display the plates year round and we've eaten off them twice (I haven't had them long).
I love finding it at yard sales or flea markets or even E-bay. It's more special to me than if we had just registered for it when we married (a time when we would never have used it or had space to display it!)

No, I don't have fine china, but I love dishes too! I have Pfaltzgraff "Nautica" in "Indigo Rose" for our "good dishes." It's not fine china (I'm really not that kind of gal!), but it is beautiful. This pattern is very hard to find it seems. I love to have company, so we use it often. Over the years, I have found the most amazing glassware at estate and garage sales at bargain prices. I have an extensive collection of milk glass in all shapes and varieties, and a wonderful collection of etched crystal stemware (this includes a 24-piece set found at a garage sale for $25. It's amazing!), dessert stemware, depression glass, vintage serving dishes, you name it.
This is off the subject, but I have also found beautiful silverplate too and have a whole set of 8 place settings I found for just $10! Dishes and glassware, mostly vintage, are the main thing I look for at garage sales, estate sales and thrift shops. It's wonderful what I have found!
