Question Do you keep your car as clean as you keep your house?

Gripey and I cleaned our cars up on Saturday and I have to say I get a special *charge* out of my car being all clean and shiney (although it isn't always perfectly clean). I try to keep it clean and cleaned out b/c I do enjoy driving it so much more that way. My ddad used to say something that I always scoffed at regarding a car. He'd say "it'll run better if you keep it very clean". At the time I thought that was ludicrous but now I think he was implying that there is a correlation to how well you maintain it overall. Do you keep your car/truck/suv as clean as you'd like?

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

Well not quite. With 3 kids and many trips, it doesn't get kept as clean as I'd like.

    nooooooo

you would be shocked. LOL it needs dusting, the windows have streaks and it's last trip thru the car wash was some time back now, a layer of spring mud and winter salt caked onto the body and tires.

But there isn't any garbage lying around.

The house is waaaay cleaner than the van. The van constantly needs picking up & vacuuming.

I do, but my dh is so messy! If he's drinking in the car, he will throw the Diet Coke bottle into the back of the Jeep or whatever we're driving. It drives me nuts!

Yes, pretty much. I can't stand to drive or ride around in my truck when it's not neat. Irritates me.

My van's a filthy mess. Ashleigh's supposed to clean it out on saturdays but.....well, she's 15. Need I say more?
I'm bad about my cars...I always have been. When I get home from somewhere, my hands are always full of stuff (or a kid) and I don't deal with alot of the mess....I think I'll do it later. Then later comes & goes & it gets worse & worse.
    (sigh)

Wellll, (now don't let AmyBoz read this...LOL) I have an assortment of clutter in my back floorboards. I swear the soda cans and coffee cups must multiply back there. I am going to head it out there later and clean it out now that I am having to publicly admit to it.

I don't have stuff laying on the floors but it can surely use a good vacuuming, dusting and over all clean up.. I hate cleaning out a car
