Default What did you give away or donate in January?

I didn't know quite where to put this. While I was posting to the "What did you get free in January" thread, I thought it would be cool to also have a give away/donate/charity thread. I know sometimes I "buy" an excess of free groceries so I have some to donate to the shelter or food pantry. We could also post what we've given away in the NYNH challenge?

We gave a bunch of Twinkies, etc. to Mil and a family that used to be our neighbors. I have a bag of kids books and another bag of shoes and jackets that need to go, but haven't left yet.

I love this thread and I think it's in the best place.

I gave away 2 bags of clothing.

I have another bag of clothing to give to a little 2 year old I know.

4 quilts to a northern reserve along with baby clothing.

I'm giving lots of things this month.

    I have:

    * one large box of books
    * about 50 music CD's we no longer listen to.
    * I bought a stamp set for my Sister in law (for her birthday-she would love to get into stamping, but can't afford to get such items for herself, as her, my brother and my neice still live with my parents) added to that from my stash I'm giving her, many colored papers and envelopes, ink pads and colored pencils...I'm weeding through my craft supplies.
    * Two bags of clothing so far to the Salvation Army.

Hello, I'm new here. I am a big believer in helping others, so this seems like a good place for my first post.

I keep a "charity bag" in my closet at all times, and call for pick-up once a quarter. Right now it contains clothing, shoes, kitchen items, and other household things. I also take advantage of B1G1F and coupons/rebates at the grocery and donate those items to our food pantry each month.

On top of helping others and making me feel good, we have no clutter in the house...which is the way I like it.

My dd cleaned her room/closets/drawers and scored 4 trash bags worth of clothing that we sent to St Michaels charity.
We gave a check for $10 (my max charitable budget for the month) to the Disabled Veterans
We did not have a food pickup for the soup kitchen- yet.
    That's it for now.
