Mine is on all the time.......with a dd driving 40 miles round trip on the freeway for college each day I need to be available to her just incase. She tends to call me often during the day just to chat......she thinks she is all grown up at 18 but she still loves to call her Mom!!
I also need it on because we have dial up for our computer and that way dh or the grade school where ds goes to can reach me if necessary!!

I had one but never quite figured out how it worked. Answering it was difficult to remember how to do that. I made a phone call on it once, with dd's help, but it was stressful. It was a sequence of buttons to push for answering or making a call. First turning it on, then pushing some button or other.

All the time BUT it stays in my car or on my body if I go into a store only the people in th ehouse (husband and daughter) the school and my work knows the number so those are the only calls I get....

We just got a prepaid phone. I turn it on when I leave the house, as soon as I get home it gets turned off. My dh, inlaws, brother, and parents are the only ones who have the number. They know to try me at home first.
With 2 kids and driving everywhere (nothing in my town), I feel much safer than I have these past few months without one.
