OK I'd want to see some of my relatives over there, I"ve some second cousins etc.
Once family was seen to, I'd like to go north and see you and the Dales and check out the James Herriot museum you told me of, and see those lakes.
I think I'd go with public transit and see how many strangers I could talk to and enjoy meeting.
I've heard of walking tours. I think they sound nice.
I think the big city would give me the pip and I'd avoid it like the plague. Other than maybe seeing the skyline of London just so I could say I saw it.
The tower ditto.
British Museum. Both my kids have been there, and both of them adored it. Drew spent most of his time in England poking thru it.
but after that, escape to the countryside.
Might want to see Scotland. But countryside, not city.
I'd prefer to have a cup of tea and sit and chat with real people and listen to their lives and compare notes.

I would want to see London for a day or two. Tour through Harrods and the wax museum.
After that I want to see the countryside. Try to visit Ireland as well.
I want to go to some pubs and soak up the local atmosphere. I would also like to try some bubble and squek. If I get adventurous I may try toad in a hole.
I want to bring back some Irish linen

Ok you're on your way to the UK, what do you want to see & why? I'd want to meet you Karen first - then I'd want to see where the Queen lives. I'd also like to see where my great grandmother came from. Before I left Canada, I'd have to do a bit of searching on that one. I'd also love to see where English tea is made. Oh and I'd love to see some of the gardens I've seen in English books - they look spectacular. We'd also have to go to a couple musuems (love those places)
What places would like to AVOID & why? I'm not sure about this one because I'm not aware of anything to avoid. Again I'd have to find out what areas to avoid.
What would you like to eat? I'd love to drink more English tea, eat scones and probably pretty much anything put in front of me. If I didn't like it, I'd just not eat it.
What would you want to take back home with you? Some fine china, probably some Scottish linens and more English tea.
Would you be brave and hire a car? or travel on public transport? I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to hire a car. Yet public transport might not be the way either. I think I'd do a lot of walking and once I seen how they drive I'd probably hire a car.
If you were able to go to one other destination in Europe ( well, by now you are on the right side of the Pond for it.........) It would have to be France
What would be your biggest fear about coming to the UK? I don't think I'd have any fear travelling to the UK. The only thing that would hold us back would be finances.

Ok you're on your way to the UK, what do you want to see & why?
I've been before, roughly 20 years ago. I loved Picadilly Circus, York Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral, Harrods, Buckingham Palace, the British Museum. I'd love to see them all again plus more museums and the Tower of London/the crown jewels.
What places would like to AVOID & why?
Not sure.
What would you like to eat?
Fish & chips, anything chocolate.
What would you want to take back home with you?
Hmmmmm. Not sure. It would be fun just to explore and see what appealed to me.
Would you be brave and hire a car? or travel on public transport?
No way I would attempt to drive myself! The taxis scared me, but I'd use them again. The subway system was extremely easy to use, but I'd be leary of it now after last year.
If you were able to go to one other destination in Europe ( well, by now you are on the right side of the Pond for it.........)
Oh gosh, just one??? Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Sweden, Austria, Spain, France, and the list goes on.
What would be your biggest fear about coming to the UK?
Terrorism.

What would you want to take back home with you?
Hmmm, a sheep or something fabric. Last time I went on holiday I ended up inadvertently stealing a rug from a shop in Stratford on Avon so who knows what I might end up with.
Would you be brave and hire a car? or travel on public transport?
ROFL - Public transport, you're having a giraffe! No seriously I think I'd use a mxture of car and train.
