Question My ds and his friend think I'm packing too much food

Tomorrow I'm working our Federal Elections and I'm packing my food for the day. Ds & his friend walked into the kitchen and were bugging me when they saw all the food. I tried to tell them this is food for ALL DAY but they still think I'm packing too much.

I wish I could put all the food they consume in one day into a pile and see if they'll still bug me.

Anyway, what do you think? Am I packing too much? I leave the house at 5:50am so I'm not eating breakfast before I go and I'll be working until 8:30pm. Here's what I'm taking:

    3 bottles of water
1 bottle of homemade iced tea
    1 individual yogurt
2 homemade apple sauce muffins (I'll probably only 1 eat and share the other with my co-worker)
container of salad with cubes of chicken (about 2 cups salad 1/4 cup chicken)
1-1/2 cup container of fruit salad
1 tortilla roll up with ham, cheese & lettuce
    2 mini kit kat bars
a little bag of taco chips

That's it; it seems reasonable to me

It seems totally reasonable to me. The only thing I would change is I'd add a couple more bottles of water.

    Thanks CJ

One of the water bottles is a 1 litre bottle the other two are normal size, I think 600 ml. Maybe I should take one more; I can always bring it back home.

I don't think it looks like a lot.
Like CJ, I would only add more drinks/water.

    Thanks girls

Honestly I'd eat heavier at home. I find that working long days where my hardest physical work is handing people their ballots, I like to eat lighter. If I eat too heavy, I get tired. I'm amazed how tired I get after working elections when all I do all day is sit on my butt

I eccho what everyone else said and think maybe ds would like to try to eat nothing else in the day but what you just packed for yourself. What fun!

I don't think you're taking too much at all.

DH worked in a polling station during our General Election last year and he said he would have eaten any amount of food to pass the time. He took a similar amount to your list and was glad afterwards as he didn't overeat - he did share with someone too.

We saw some people in the supermarket the night before and they were buying multiple packs of muffins and cookies, I think what you have is pretty healthy compared to what we saw!

Seems very reasonable to me. Although you didn't ask, I'll share a little tip I learned years ago. When someone questions or critisizes you on such topics, ask them politely but firmly "And how does that affect you?" It lets them know you heard them, but you are going to do what is best for you (or whoever is involved).
