    Smile MONEY

I was reading a magazine the other day and it said you cant solve money problems with money.I started to think about it and I agree. When you get into deep cc debt, just paying it off I dont feel will fix things. You have to figure out why you got into so much debt.
I was just wonderinghow many others feel the same way

I agree completely, once we're done paying the credit cards and that's fixed, it's our way of thinking that now needs to change.

I am starting over myself, I shredded all my credit cards except for 2, one is for $250, if need be I will use that but only when REALLY needed and another one for $3250, that one will only be used (I HAVE NEVER USED THIS CARD) only for a DIRE emergency.

We need to start thinking of a way to get our minds off of using our cards when we want to buy something. I got this book today and it states: You can't pay a credit card bill with another credit card, which is true, we have to stop masking and get down to reality. CC debt is VERY hard to get out of, believe me I know.

You do have to change your ways, tis true. You can't spend what you can't afford. Nothing wrong in that... to me it's about living below your means. Sure I could buy this and that but do I need it? Can I afford it? Am I OK making do with what I have? 99% of the time we are doing fine with what we have and saving for the the things we know will need attention someday. We've always kept our credit in high reguard and made a point of paying things off before due. Not everyone can do that I know but we have always found a way. Make do or do without and we are doing well.

I also agree. I was talking with my hair lady yesterday about some of my financial plans, and she said "Your so good with your money." And I said, "Anyone can be....BUT it's like quitting smoking or losing weight. Nobody can make you do it; the motivation has to come from inside."

Well said, Valerie! It takes EFFORT to save, to "coupon" and "rebate", to just say NO to those impulse buys.... EXACTLY like losing weight.

I absolutely agree with that statement. You do have to change the way you live to change your life. It's important to keep your eye on the ball and know that all of this will be for nothing if you don't change the habits that got you here to begin with.
