All Alone Tonight
Well, I have decided I am a 41 year old baby when it comes to being alone at night. My husband had to work out of town and had to ride with someone else so I couldn't go. This is the first night I have ever spent alone in my life. I have no friends here because I have only lived here for 2 months. I am trying to be brave but every sound is freaking me out. Is there anyone that will be on later to chat in mails or in the chat room?
How do others cope with being home alone at night?
Sorry, Lee

Sorry you've found yourself alone tonight!
I hate it when Philip is gone all night. I usually stay up far too late and keep several lights on when I do go to sleep. I usually find time to watch a chick flick or two as well, so maybe you could have your own personal movie night?
Good luck!

I definately have a problem being alone at night. When all the Kids were young and Jim worked out of town, I was ok.
I just leave quite a few lights burning...lock the doors & mostly stay up & watch TV.
I know I am a "Big Chicken" lol

Having been a military wife, I have spent many nights alone. My husband works from 3pm until 1-2 M-F and some weekends now. I have never really been afraid by myself since the kids left home. I just go out with my trusty BB Gun if I hear anything. I am a pretty good shot with it too. Just ask voodidit

hehe I just pictured that in my mind.
One of the reasons I am so scared is I posted a website that shows all the sexual offenders in the area and there is one .04 miles from me. I know I am being paranoid but it makes me think.

When my DH used to work third shift, I got a dog. He doesn't work nights any more, but we still have the dog. She still sleeps with me, too.

awwww Lee.....I'm sorry!!
I never used to be a chicken until I started paying attention to the missing children and adults and started reading up on true crimes in the news. Now everything I hear at night time makes me jump. I have even resorted to sleeping with the back bathroom light on. I have a registered sexual offender .21 miles from my house, too close for comfort!! Im so bad with chat rooms, I'm gonna go start a thread for us, or wait a min and see if ya just wanna chat here. I will be on until around 11:30, if ya are still on!

Sorry I am so late responding to this. It actually wasn't so bad. I chatted and did e-mail and then read the bible. I took a hot bath locked myself in the bedroom and had "Izzy" my dog right beside me. I was able to sleep 4 hours and really wasn't very scared at all. I think next time it will be even easier and get easier from there on out. Thanks for all the support.
