I'm Home and I've Got a New Son!!!
Well, I'm back, ladies...

I had my last day of work on Friday, and then play practice, and then after that I went to my friend, Tara's, house to watch the movie FAME with our choreographer because she had never seen it. (We thought it was a major travesty that a choreographer had never seen Fame
) I came home around 10 pm, chatted with Rob for a bit, then went to bed.
Around 2 am, I sat up in bed, feeling a little funny. I got up to go to the bathroom and...whooosshhh...my water broke. (My water never broke with either of my other two deliveries, so this was something new for me!) I went to the bathroom where it continued to leak for a bit, then I went downstairs and got Rob, who was working on the taxes. We called the doctor and she called back when the service gave her the message. She told us to go to the hospital.
We called Rob's Dad who came up to sleep on the couch, so that the kids wouldn't be alone, and we left. We got there, they checked me out, and I wasn't even a little bit dilated. I never wound up going into labor, but since my water was broken and I was already committed to having a c-section, they went ahead and prepped me for surgery.
So, we went in the OR, I got the spinal, and they got me all ready, and then brought Rob in. It took awhile longer than last time because there was a bunch of adhesion in the scar tissue and they had to cut through all of that, but evenutally we heard the cries and they told us it was a boy!
So, little Matthew Daniel was born at 4:37 am Saturday, February 11, 2006. He weighed 8 lbs 11 oz (he's the pipsqueak of our family
) and was 21 inches long. He's beautiful and wonderful and I am totally in love.
There was some liquid in his lungs and stomach that they had to suction out for about 15 minutes after he was born, but eventually that cleared up and the doctors declared him perfect. I have to agree.
Rob brought the two of us home a few hours ago, and will later go pick up Julia and Patrick from daycare. He brought them to the hospital to meet their brother, and it went very well. Julia was immediately in love, and Patrick is still figuring it all out, but so far, has adjusted well and seems to enjoy "Mattoon," as he calls him.
So, we're home and I'm back and I look forward to getting caught up with all of you, (although you'll forgive me if I'm a bit distracted for awhile!) Luckily, I typed up the bedroom NYNH challenge before I left, so all I have to do is cut and paste from Microsoft Word.
I'll post pictures tomorrow.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com
