Hello from Newfoundland
Hi there
I recently discovered this site and I love what I see so far.
My husband and I recently moved to Newfoundland from Ontario this past summer. I am originally from the U.S. though but he is from "The Rock"
Due to illness I am currently unable to work and my dh gave up his 60,0000/year job to move me to a better climate for my health. So right now we are living off his unemployment benefits(his work generously laid him off so he could get benefits) So we definetly need all the help and tips we can get.
Dh and I both have some bad habits that I'm hoping to break( he smokes and drinks ALOT of pop, I buy to many convenience foods)
Newfoundland is very beautiful but poor Province here in Canada. With our income slashed more that 70% we are trying very hard to make this work. I'd also like to go back to school in the next year.
Here are some of my 2006 goals
*Move to a less expensive apartment or home with a garden
*Start to stockpile
*Do more home baking
*Start a business at home
*Have a garden
*Walk More
*Save our change
*Make more of my own convenience foods

to FV, Fiona! In your user control panel (tab at the top of the page) you can adjust your personal settings, including your avatar. There's a spot for avatar where you can browse your computer for a certain file (picture). Just make sure the picture is sized properly or it won't work. HTH!
