Default Our weather report for today :(

I have to take my mom to the specialist this afternoon for her ankle--
it's 60+ miles away. I know that 6-10 inches is nothing for many of
you, but out here in the flat, open areas- the drifts will be 4-6
foot! And we're not used to dealing with more than a few inches of
snow at any one time. Our road crews are not equipped to handle that
much snow. They still don't have all the debris cleared from last
week's tornados, so it could get really dangerous if stuff gets hidden
    under the snow.
    Denise

FIRST DAY OF SPRING WILL BRING A WINTER STORM TO PARTS OF
    MO & IL.

LOW PRESSURE OVER THE TX PANHANDLE THIS MORNING WILL MOVE INTO
AR BY THIS EVENING. THIS SYSTEM WILL DRAW ABUNDANT MOISTURE
NORTHWARD FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO ALLOWING IT TO CAUSE WIDESPREAD
RAIN..SLEET.& SNOW ACROSS SECTIONS OF MO & IL.
ENOUGH COLD AIR WILL REMAIN IN PLACE OVER N. MO AND
CNTL IL SO THAT THE PRECIPITATION WILL FALL MAINLY AS
SNOW.CAUSING HEAVY SNOWFALL TONIGHT. THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION
WILL COME TO AN END ON TUES AS THE STORM MOVES INTO THE
    EASTERN U.S.

It might not be too bad today, Denise. They got 2" of snow in Omaha yesterday, but it didn't start snowing again until late and most of that melted since t was in the 40ยบ's during the day. It seems pretty slow moving. We got a couple more inches that stuck overnight and nothing right now. They keep bumping up the snow amounts, but extending the time of arrival. It's not suppose to stop here until Thursday! 11" - 14" by tonight! It's wet snow and not blowing around much.

Keep your eye on the local channels. Cancel the appointment and stay home if you don't feel safe though!!! (I hate going in to the big city anyway!)

I can't hardly cancel mom's appointment-- she broke her ankle last week, and the specialist needs to see her to decide if she needs surgery, a cast, or what. . . right now she's non weight bearing on a walker, no cast, no splint- nothing.

We're home safely-- the weather has held off for now, but coming in later tonight. I called my teacher and told her I wasn't coming to class.

Angie-- you must not have to drive much , if you love snowstorms. I have to drive 60+ miles one way to work, and in the dark both ways (I work 12 hour shifts)

I'm glad the snow held off. It's snowing and blowing like crazy here now, about an inch an hour!

What did they decide about your Mom's ankle? (sorry if I missed a post about it, I've been chsing my tail a lot lately)

Glad that the weather cooperated with you Denise. What did the dr. say about your mom's ankle? Surgery or no?

Mom is sporting a neon YELLOW (her request) cast for the next 6-8 weeks. She's hating it, and fighting it every step of the way.

Wishing your Mom great healing with that ankle. Neon yellow eh? Lol.
I hate and will do just about anything not to drive in snow. Blech.
