Default And to be fair....What do you *love* about your house?

So...now let's hear what you love about your home? Some interesting feature or great location?
For me, it's the property...we have a little over 1/2 acre which is an extremely large lot for our area. Lots of wildlife and no neighbors' windows to look into....
And, I love my kitchen! It's large...overlooks the back yard/pond and has an island which I've always wanted. And, the house has great storage.

I love how open our house is. It's really tiny (less than 1,000 sq. ft.) but it gets lots of natural light and it seems bigger than it is. Also my kitchen is a lot better than most small houses (and even some larger houses), it's open, big, and light. And it's painted exactly the color I want.

I also like that we have an exposed brick wall in our bedroom. And I like our screened porch, although it could use a little fixing up.

For me its our back porch. We've done it up Tiki Style with bamboo ceiling and walls. Plus a freind built us a huge cabinet at one end thats open on the top with glass shelves and tons of storage under neither. He also added electric to it so when we have parties the crockpot and warming trays can be set up there.
Since its open and facing north we never get direct sun on it which makes it cool in the summer for lounging on also it open into our home throught 2 sliding glass doors. Gives the feel of another room. Not to mention the screen allows the scent of all our flowers to flow in.

Cathy, I'm drooling over here You wouldn't want to share some of those cupboards/counters would you? LOL

I love all the wood in my house. There are at least 6 different kinds of hardwood in this house, from the floors, to the wainscoting, to the trim around every door and window and the wood plantation shutters that were custom made for every window in the house ...and that's ALOT of windows!!

YankeeMom...I drool over all that wood trim in your house!!! That is my favorite thing about old homes...all that beautiful woodwork! (and the cool windows...and the fireplaces...and the floors....)
And, I will admit....this is my dream kitchen, and a long time coming! Both dh and I fell in love with it instantly. I consider myself extremely spoiled. The large closet door to the left is actually a butlers pantry of sorts. There is shelving and a counter top with plug ins for appliances, etc.

Ooooh Cathy, that kitchen is beautiful! I'm sure you're a happy cook in there.

I love open plan of our living/dining room. I also love that this house has been in my family for 44 yrs.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

I love the location and the view!! It's an old A-frame house that has been added on to but the view was what made me want to rent it!

I rent an apartment, so a lot of times I just whine about not being able to do anything to it (can't paint the walls, put down new carpet, etc) but I do love the fact that I have a pantry, a linen closet, and two bathrooms - one for the cat's litter box so it doesn't stink up the rest of the place.

I love my backyard. It's completely private, with gardens, koi pond and a gazebo and inground pool. My kids are grown and gone and I still use the pool everyday in the summer. On the weekends everyone hangs out at our house.

I rent an apartment. I love the fact that I have a laundry room, fireplace, vaulted ceilings, walk in closets with built in shoeracks and shelves. I hate the neighbors below...they play their music so loud if causes my floor to vibrate.

I love the fact that it is located five houses from the school, it is on a dead end/ culdesac, and that our front yard is big enough that the neighborhood kids are all safe at my home in the yard... Everyone who has kids can see my large yard from either their front porch, or by stepping into their driveways... It give me peace of mind that I know what my children are doing and with whom...

I love the location best. I live on about 5 acres with woods behind me and a creek/river in front. Love all the wildlife I see and bonus - I can go hang laundry in my pj's (or nothing ) and nobody would see me, lol. Got to be careful during fishing season tho.
Ahhh... it's so relaxing and peaceful and full of beauty.
