Our vehicles got broken into!
There have been a lot of warnings going around about vehicle break-ins in the military housing area. We usually keep the doors locked in our van, but I went grocery shopping Monday, and I guess I forgot to lock it after I unloaded it.
DH got up to go to work this morning at 5:30, and he noticed that the passenger side of our van was not quite shut. Sure enough, they emptied out the glove compartment, and went through all the stuff. We had a big folder full of CD's, which they left, but they did take a power converter that we plug into the lighter to power our laptop, so the kids can watch movies on it. We also had some change, but probably less than a dollar. Our truck, which we never lock, (there's nothing worth stealing in it anyways) was hit too. We had a duffel bag with emergency supplies in it. It looks like they dumped most of it out, and took the bag. They may have gotten a blanket and a couple of candles, but, hey, if they wanted them that bad...
It just makes me mad! We have never had problems anywhere else we have lived, but when we moved here, we have had stuff taken out of our yard, and now our vehicles. From what I understand, the police think it's just a bunch of kids, and they clean out one neighbourhood, move on to the next, and so on, then they start back at the beginning. I just have to say, those kids better hope the police catch them first, before some angry army guy does!!

I'm so sorry that happened to you. The feelings of invasion and violation probably far outweigh the monetary value of what you lost.

Oh no, I'm so sorry. A thief makes me more angry than almost anyone. What gives them the right to come in and take your stuff? Makes me furious! Big hugs!

Tracy,

Oh no! I lock my car everywhere I go but forget to lock it when I'm home. Nothing in it to steal but I couldn't afford another car either. Sorry you girls had this happen.

That stinks!! The same thing has been going on in this area too...I make sure to lock everything up, but I'm sure they could get in if they truely wanted to. All I have are some CD's, but I worry about damage to the vehicle.
Sorry to hear they got ya...hope they catch 'em soon!

Sorry to hear about that. I know how you feel. Usually I always lock my car, I'm pretty anal about it. But one day last summer, I musta forgot to lock it. DH asked me why the trunk was open one morning. Sure enough, it was ransacked. Luckily I had my stereo faceplate and most of my CD's in the house. I did have a couple of rock music CD's in there but they didn't take them. That makes me think it was kids. I had a bunch of change in the ashtray and they took the time to pick out all the pennies and leave them. I must have had the glove box locked because they forced it open and broke it. I really felt invaded. There wasn't anything else to take, they just threw stuff around.

“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no

every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
