Introduction: Kootenay Annie
Just wanted to say Hello. I am just looking through the lists. I am an oldtime frugal/simple living soul. I am always on the look out for good, solid, new to me ideas on frugal/simple living. I took early retirement several years ago, due to hubby's health problems, and have been so happy I did. We enjoy many things together, and of course most cost nothing, or are adding to our comfort. For example, we go and get all our fire wood. results, low cost heating, exercise, time together doing something we enjoy out in beautiful mountain country, we take out lunches and picnic in the wild country ( remembering the words, if you take it in take it out with you). I always try and remember to take my camera with me, and in summer to make sure I have a pail or two for special fruit, like huckle berries, or saskatoons. Our mode of transportation out is an old 1969 Scout, we get about 40 miles to the gallon, and the small back space lets us bring home a little over 1/2 cord of wood at a time. It is enough that by the end of the summer we have a year's worth of wood in our wood shed, and many happy days out puttering and enjoying our spring, summer and fall.
Looking to read many happy posts.

Welcome to the Village, please make yourself at home!
Dh & I just came in from stacking some of this coming winters wood. Still have another days work ahead to finish & we'll be all set til it's time to fall, cut, split & stack again.
It's alot of work but as you know, so rewarding.
