Default After 3 long weeks of painting and cleaning...

We got my dmom and ddad moved this past weekend. Woo Hoo!

We had 10 family members show up to help and we completely packed them up, moved them out, cleaned behind ourselves and moved them to the new house in one day. We got about 2/3's of it put away on that day and now I'm doing it day by day, box by box. I think I have about 3 days left (working about 3 hours at a time) to finish and then we'll do the fun part of wall hangings and other decorations. We had a hiccup with the hot water heater yesterday but Dad got new heating elements and now it's working like new for only $30. They are completely thrilled to be moved......and I'm thrilled to have the worst of the work behind me.

I've missed everyone at the village and keeping up with what's up with you all.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

Woohoo! I can "see" your happiness. I'm so glad they are moved in and close where you can be there for each other whenever needed. So glad you had all that help and I wish them many happy years in their new home.

I'm glad you had help, and got so much done in one day. Sounds like everyone will be happy with the new arrangements.

It sounds like the move went nice and smoothly except for the hw heater. That is great news. I know that you have been working hard at getting your folks moved and now you can relax and enjoy them being close by. I am so happy for you and for them too.

Great news about the water heater. It's very nice of you to help them move and unpack.
