Talking Hugs everybody, and party time, dh's first eye surgery went well

thank the Lord. He is 20 25 in that eye, and we go for the other next week.

I'm struggling a bit with asthma and exhaustion, the travelling is difficult and my lungs are bugging me a bit but otherwise ok, and doing well.

Dh gave me a new sewing machine for my birthday coming up in July which I've been enjoying. I sewed new denim oven mitts and a dust ruffle for one of the beds since we got home.

The denim oven mitts are a wonderful use of dh's discarded worn work jeans as the non acid hole areas are quite good as mitt covers.

Dh has cleaned the computer room up so I can come online without being driven upstairs by allergies. Thank goodness.

Iv'e been after him for some time on that-- I'm not allowed to move stuff so he leaves dusty piles of computer stuff and papers and with my asthma acting up it's been fairly dramatically evident that I needed him to clean up this room which he has done.

I don't know which I appreciate more, the decluttered computer room or the sewing machine.

That is it from my household news for now, and hoping all is well.

Glad that Hollyhills' dh got a job, that is terrific news.

Aw thanks ladies, it's nice to have a week in between to catch my breath--so to speak.

It's a new bargain line Pfaff put out called the Smart 200C and they had a sale on it while we were in Vancouver. My old machine needs fixing again (which we are going to do, then give it to dd) and I've just sidelined sewing for a year.

Meanwhile quite a few things are backed up. I decided to keep account of what I'm sewing in terms of the items and what they saved us, whether it's mending or altering so I can carry on using something, or making use of scraps like the denim pot holders or creating pillowcases out of double flat sheets, which I was in mid project last year with some more of those when my machine gave out.

I'm glad to hear your DH's surgery went well. I hope you enjoy using the new sewing machine. You will have to let us know how you like it. I think I am going to get one for my DIL for her birthday in August, with the 2 babies and a new house she has lots of projects planned and a ancient machine that get cursed at alot. lol! I hope that all goes well for your DH next week. I will keep him in my prayers. I hope you feel bettter too. Maybe after the surgery is over you will be able to relax and get some rest.

WOW! 20/25 that's wonderful! It must be such a treat for him to see so well!
I am sorry about your asthma, I know several people having a hard time breathing just now....so sorry.....

But I wish you were here with that wonderful new machine helping Dd sew her "fiddler on the roof" costume....we're limping along with a cantankerous old machine....

Hey, wish you were here May 4, 5, 6, 7 to see her show, you would love it! All highschool homeschoolers with a fantastic director and choreographer and lots of great talent!!! In the meantime keep on sewing sewing sewing ..........at least the skirt has to be finsihed by Thursday because there will be a publicity shoot by our local paper, they are doing an interview about this all homeschool cast.
