    Amber Alert as Westchester girl abducted

    The Town of Ramapo Police Department has activated the New York State Amber Alert and is investigating a confirmed child abduction that occurred in Ramapo around 3 o'clock this afternoon.

    28 Trinity Avenue,

    The child, Mara D. Downes, is a black female, approximately 13 with brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs about 120 pounds. Mara was last seen wearing a Sacred Heart School Uniform consisting of burgandy sweatpants, white T-shirt with school logo and white sneakers. She was also wearing heart-shaped earrings, a gold crucifix necklace, an August birthstone ring and two gold bracelets.

    The vehicle has been identified as a silver and gold, four-door 1997 Toyota Camry with New York license plate number CPF8770. The car was reported stolen earlier in the month of April.

    It was last seen traveling south on Trinity Avenue in Ramapo.

    The victim was abducted by three black males wearing masks. A struggle took place and she was thrown into the trunk of the vehicle at 28 Trinity Ave.

    Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the Ramapo Police Department at (866) NYS-AMBER or dial 911 to provide information on a report or sighting.

    Ugh... sends shivers down my spine. I heard on the radio this morning that a woman in my neighborhood was pushed off her balcony and was found the next morning on her yard. I'm praying for her too.
