    Default mad at landlords

We rent a townhouse and my hubby got all the tenants on our side to sign it( we had too, legal reasons, clause in contract) to get a clotheslines in our building. 3 days ago our mager said he'd get back to us. Well now will have to wait till next year beacuse htey decided to seed the grass(that din't take) before the 5 day rains on EasterSunday. Nothings going to grow now, its hard as rock and winds and rain blew most of it away. But landlords said not until grass takes. ughhhhhhhhhhhh, no saving money this year!!!

sorry to hear that your landlord is postponing the clothesline idea. i live in an apartment and try to use my dryer as little as possible. i hang clothes on hangers on my shower curtain rod (at ends only so that the weight of the wet clothes doesn't bend the rod) and i also use a collapsible plastic clothes dryer that sits inside my bathtub. although this only allows for one load of wash to drip-dry per day, it saves me the extra on the electricity bill. the clothes often need to be ironed when dry but it's worth it for me.

Sorry to hear the clothesline is derailed. Can you set out a drying rack on your patio?

Sorry to hear that. I know your pain. It costs me $1.50 to dry laundry, so I have been using a clothes drying rack. It's much more efficient. I do one load of clothes pretty much every other day. Works pretty well for me -- then again, I'm the only one in my apartment.

dwallyfam, I'm going to try something on the patio. Our neighbour said we should tie off ropes in between too from hers to ours just to have extra drying space for smaller items. I think thats agood idea. And from cspp04, iLL have to look into something from tub, just ifind when I was in other apartment, the bathroom always smelled dank, damp. So far my neighbour just puts them along rails for towels and comforters.

When I had an upstairs apt. I used the spring loaded shower rods in any doorway-- hung the clothes on hangers, then put the hangers on the rods-- clothes pins kept undies/bras/socks on the hangers, just as on a line. slacks, shirts got hung, just like normal.

I also live in an apartment. I refuse to pay 1.00 a load and sometimes 3.00 for towels to dry. I just purchased one of these (the Eagle) and have the 33ft one too. I will be trying one out in the morning and posting pictures in my blog.

The complex we moved into in Jan has washers for .50 and dryers for .50. It's much more affordable than our old place (1.00/wash & .75/dry). Sometimes I hang up some of the clothes on my upstairs railing or my bed has canopy rails and I hang up stuff there sometimes to save a bit.
