I am new here
Hi,
I just joined, I found you through the yahoo compacter group. I am 35 years old, married and have 2 children - girl, 6 yrs old and boy 2 yrs old. I work in my parents contracting company in Hawaii as office manager for the last 13 years and been frugal all my life! Most of my frugality has been because of the influence of my great grandmother who lived until she was 99 - she took care of us when my parents worked she was so tight she sqeaked! I love her for it and now I don't take the money I make for granted and neither will my children when they get older. The only problem is that my husband and I don't always see eye to eye with this, he would rather go into debt and live in the 'now' as he says than always be thinking about expenses - I think we can do both and be happy.. without so much debt! He doesn't spend a lot but he likes to go out to dinner more than I would like to. Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble!

So nice to meet you Pinkducky! Your Grandma sounds like she was quite the woman. So glad you were old enough to appreciate her. I lost too many people when I was young and so wished I had the chance to really know them.
Welcome!~*Darlene*~

Welcome Pinkducky -- your grandmama sounds like quite a woman. I think its beautiful to have someone in your family like that.
My dh is the same way -- he cannot stand to hear "no we can't afford that this week". Like he's a small boy but how I love him.
