    Angry Fire Codes..no BBQ

Came home to a notice on our apartment door, As of immediately there will be no Open Flame or Charcoal BBQing allowed on patios,,,or within 10 feet of any structure or debris. This is my husbands favorite hobby, and he is so upset. He was going to smoke some ribs for his mother on mothers day (already bought and in the freezer). We have an electric type smoker in storage (a little cheif), It's not open flame....I wonder if this will be in violation of fire code??? We have a little table top , I'll have to dragg to the parking lot, or something. No BBQ is like summer with no sun. Were there is a will, there is a way....I just have to find it. What would you do???

I'd go to a park where they allow grilling.

Why not ask the apartment people if you can use your smoker. If the answer is no, I agree with Darlene about a park. Make a day of it and have some fun.

Well, when I lived in an apt I just sucked it up and didn't grill. I know it sucks, but if there is even a *chance* of something going wrong and burning down the apt that would be horrible. Even if you would be super careful, if you grill, than others would to, and they might not be careful and than the whole apt goes up. When I did live in an apt (for 2 years) I went to bed every night terrified that the neighbors would burn the apt down. Can you visit friends with BBQ's?

Do you have a state park nearby? Those are always nice and usually have picnic areas with grills there.
