Default Unfrugal and Well Worth It

We had a group of our oldest friends over tonight for a barbecue. I had been putting aside some cash from piano to pay for the food for the barbecue so I wouldn't charge it with our usual groceries. It was a bit of money, but it was so worth it. I haven't seen one of them in almost a year and the other two in months. It was so wonderful to have them there, the money didn't really mean a thing, and they were kind enough to also bring things to the party.

Poor dh...it started to rain just as he fired up the grill, so while the rest of us hung out in the house, he stood out at the grill with an umbrella, grilling up our dinners. Good guy I married!

Anyway, sometimes it's worth it to not be frugal. You can't put a price on friendship.

My dh stood in the rain under an umbrella one time to grill out food for us. It's those sweet memories that are so great!

I'm in a similar boat today. I bought a nice looking roast, a bag of potatoes, a bag of carrots and a cake to bring over to my Mother's for dinner tonight to celebrate Mother's Day and to welcome her back from her trip (she and her boyfriend came back from Ireland last night). It was expensive but I know it'll be well worth it.

Great use of money! And that money you used will keep giving in the form of happy memories.
