My sons friend
My youngest son is at the United States Navel Academy and when he called me today he also let me. know one of his friends that he hung with was killed in Iraq a few days ago. He was 20. My sons best friend is over there right now but will be leaving Iraq and going to the Navel academy in July. He has been excepted. We as a country have lost so many of our young men to that war. I hope and pray it will end soon and we get out of there.

I am so sorry Fern. There is no *battlefield* in Iraq....every soldier is on the front line. I know, I think I held my breath the entire year dd was there. I think the 116th lost 9 soldiers in that year...one, a local 19 year old girl.

Cathy I understand being on pins and needles mt oldest son was over there for a year. It really messed him up. Every time a convory left they were shot at. They were bound to have someone wounded or dead. I had 3 of my children in the Army and my youngest will be an Office in the Marines in 2 more years. Its a scary time for moms and spouses right now.

I think the soldier you speak of is one of those we lost from the 10th Mtn Div last week. Was it the chinook helicoptor crash?

An excellent statement. Though I would add, "Hate the moron who started it in the first place". I'm sorry, but I have no respect for Bush or his administration. I feel so sorry for the American soldiers and their families. I hope that this ends soon, and we can all have our sons and daughters back.

Sorry to here about your sons friend. My son was in Iraq for 1 1/2 years. It was nerve racking. I got to the point I couldn't watch the Tv. I got really ill everytime I heard a unit or someone got killed. His vechile was hit and luckily the ones in the vechicle only got minor burns. He is now home and got out of the service. He does have nightmares. I pray for all our soldiers.
