Default Which would you rather be?

I was thinking about age and financial growth. (It's been on my mind since I read the thread about making it on an income under $30k.) So, which would you rather be?

I'd rather be younger and have more time to save, because now that I'm forty I realize that I would have been much better off saving a little then rather than trying to save a LOT now.

But in reality, I am 40 and have a mortgage and some assets. Oh, well!

I am in my 20s with debt and I think I would keep it that way. We are getting started on getting rid of all that debt by converting to a more frugal lifestyle! Now hopefully I'll be in my 30s with little debt!

I couldn't pick one, lol. I like where I am now with no mortgage & some assets. I too wish I started saving for retirement earlier. Save as much as you can as early as you can.

In truth I'd rather be in my 20s, with some debt (including a mortgage) and almost no assets, but working on it.

But maybe that's just the 36 year old with some debt (less than $10,000 now!!), living in an apartment with practically no assets, digging her family out of major (stupid) debt doing some wistful dreaming again.

I do so hope my daughter learns and heeds some of the personal finance lessons I'm giving her and not those my mother (who still refuses to live by a budget) is teaching her.

I chose in my 20's with debt but I'd wanna know what I know now.
Then by the time I was in my 30's I could be outta debt and be savin' like crazy. But being in my 40's with little debt and quite a few assets isn't bad at all.

I am in my 20s, DH in his 30s and neither of us are big on owning property (we have a nomad gene built in us). I think we might eventually buy property to rent out when we have kids, but I like where I am right now actually. The little debt I have, and the small amount tucked away in my 401(k).

I like where I am right now -- in my 20s with no debt!

I chose 60s with no debt and considerable assets because that is my goal. I want to be able to retire and not have money concerns.

I'm in my 20's with only a mortgage (no other debt). I like it fine. I'm sure I'll like the following times as well.

I agree that I'd like to be in my 20s but know what I do now. I would definitely make some different choices.
