I'm back from Missouri!
It's good to be home!
My 2 dogs are doing this...
Dh said they wandered around the house for 2 days looking for me then they figured I was gone for good.
Haven't seen my son yet (he moved to a house across from us on Sunday) but I checked his checking account this morning and he's $385.00 overdrawn so we'll be having a talk since my name is also on his account.
I had a fantastic trip but had serious internet withdrawals.
I went to use the library computers and they don't allow access to message boards and only one sis was hooked to the internet and I only got to visit her house for an hour with Mom and Dad so didn't get any computer time and I figured it would be rude to ask to go online while I was there.
My flight out was delayed an hour due to a wind storm in Las Vegas but the rest of the trip was very good. I flew Alligiant Air and it is a great airline and is cheap and flys straight through to Springfield, MO so I was just an hour from my folks place.
Anyway, the tumor in my Dad's lung is not malignant but is calcified fluid that has built up from a previous build up of fluid and nothing to worry about unless he starts getting short of breath.
However, while doing the PET Scan, they found a mass in his lower abdomen which they are concerned about. Could be anything from a blockage to even colon cancer and they are waiting for him to be scheduled for a colonoscopy soon. Dad has come out of his depression where he layed in bed for 4 days before I got there and is pretty positive about this new finding. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts and please continue to keep him on your prayer list as he goes through this next round of testing.
I loved being on the farm again although I'm not sure I'm physically able to be a farmer anymore. Man, they work so hard there. My nephew has some bottle calves so we fed them 2 times a day. I gathered eggs everyday and fed the cats, kittens, and dogs and chickens. We planted a few tomatoe and squash plants and watered them and I planted a few flowers and weeded flower beds. I helped build a new fence for the 3 goats and tried to help Mom keep up the house and checked to make sure the cows and horses had feed and water. It's too much for Mom with her arthritis and having to wait on and take care of Dad constantly during the day and night. Don't know how she keeps on going. She's also not a very good driver anymore so I worry about her hauling them around.
I got to see all of my sisters except one while I was there and I saw all but one niece and her children. Their babies are so sweet!
It was just a great trip and being away 7 years was just too long so now that I've found a cheap airline I think I'll be going back more often.
I sure missed you all and can't wait to get back to my normal routine. Hugs to all. Carolyn"Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibity."

Oh Good to see you home again Dolphin.
Yes I'll pray for your dad, that must be a worry. Glad the other thing wasn't cancer though.

Thanks for the welcome home! Forgot to add that I came home with about 15 yards of fabric to make quilts (a gift from my sister) and a quilt top that my grandmother hand pieced way before 1953 which Mom is letting me put together and then I will hand quilt it and send it back to her. So I've got some great projects lined up. If she thinks I did a good job with this one she will let me do more of the older quilt tops and they will finally be finished.
