    Default Code Enforcement woes

I have been having a really hard time with code enforcement lately. The officer is a snotty woman who is nearly impossible to deal with. She's rude and snide. I can't stand her. And we're not the only family she's picking on. But she's got some bug up her nose and is really going after us big time. SOmewhere here I had posted about the letter I had sent to the editor of the local phereper. It got published. I will reply to this with a link to the edited letter they put in. I then contacted the mayor's office, the govenor's office, and the administrator of the code enforcement office. Shortly thereafter, a councilman who'd red my letter called me and told me to throw his name around if i am not getting anywhere. The administrator came today and told us that we are doing well and only need to do one small thing, and that all the other things the officer had bitten our wallets for were non-issues and would be removed from our ticket. So all in all I am so pleased with the results and I can finally breathe easy without code enforcement haunting my thoughts and yard!

Good job! And what a relief for you too!

I had to laugh tho, read all the letters to the editor (k, going nuts being laid up here!) And the one about the horse manure, I wonder how many gardeners ran out and scooped it up, lol, that stuff is brown gold!

Well I am glad of code enforcement right now.......They and the humane socity are working on my cat lady next door and one more cat lady here in the mobile home park. I came home from putting my grandson on the school and I had 11 cats in my driveway. With the heat righ now the smell is really bad. so code enforcement will be the one to bring the health department out. Oh by the way her cats don't smell. Missy I'm glad your problem is getting better.

I'm glad things are getting better & they're finally leaving you alone. Sounds like that woman enjoys throwing her "authority" around. Your letter was good!

I'm glad things are looking up. Years ago I was seething about a person in "authority" who was lording it over others. A friend told me not to waste my anger, but to think of how empty her life must be. He said he pitied her.

He was right. That's not to say someone like that doesn't evoke anger first...but I always remember that behind the bravado is a unfulfilled person. Makes the dealing with that type a little easier.

I think I would be steaming. You wrote a very good letter to the editor. I'm glad that some people listened to you and took the other items off the list. Sometimes I just wonder if the people who do code enforcement know other people that complain.
I see places here that need to be cleaned up and fixed and these are buildings next to businesses, that no one says anything about. But then I see people who are doing there best and they are given so much time to repair. Doesn't make sense to me sometimes.
