Default Someone please splain this to me....

I was reading the thread about something frugally surprising and one members reply made me think of Gripey. He has always gone to auctions and bought 2nd hand equipment, and lately has even taken to wanting to go to buy furniture and household stuff. But if I come wagging home something wonderful from a garage sale he turns his nose up.... I don't get it!? I mean isn't used, USED no matter where you buy it? We buy used cars, used boats, our house was by no means new when we bought it, we've never either one felt as if we deserved the best of everything. I just don't get the difference between garage sale, dumpster dived or curb shopped, and auction stuff. Anyone else?

Well, since I saw Bill Nye the Science Guy talk about the water cycle .... and realized that we're drinking the same water that the dinosaurs drank, I became less squeamish about what 'used' meant.

That does shine a completely different light on the subject now doesn't it.

    Lol Earlybird.
Lisa, I think it also has something to do with it being his idea. His ideas hold more weight for him, I think most people are that way. Maybe too he thinks auctions are cool stuff but g-sales are peoples junk. Who knows what lurks in the hearts of men?
