    Default Pretty busy day

    Today was pretty busy.

I went to church where I:

Put 400 lbs of food away in the various "food Pantry" shelves. (We give food to those who need it.)

Helped in the kitchen to get things set up for...

An awards ceremony for the kids in the scout groups
    --------------------------------------------------
Was given a huge bag of clothes for dd and ds2

Was given two big boxes of food for the house
    --------------------------------------------------
seeded a row of sunflowers along the side of the house

seeded some daizies and batchelor buttons into my side yard

got dh to help me find supplies for making a path to the veggie garden
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    still gotta make dinner

tomorrow I will put plants into my veggie garden...maybe get the kids to help with the path too
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    whee, getting lots done!!

Whew! Sounds like you had a busy, but productive day. Just think, one day you will be able to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor; flowers blooming, vegetables growing. Don't forget to rest.

Missy, where do you live? Have you planted sunflowers this late before? I would like to plant sunflowers but I think it maybe too late for me here (Canada). Or do the short ones mature quicker? Do you know?

Holly, I am not too concerned about actually getting the flowers to "harvest" stage, just having the verticle intrest will make me happy. I am in Colorado. I am never so good about planting when I am supposed to. But our growing season/harvest generally ends here in mid to late september, sometimes into october. So I just might get some heads off of them to dry. If i do i will post how to turn the heads into a birdfeeder. I planted just the stuff MIL had stashed in her shrunk. I figured i could try. if they grow, that would be great. if they don't I can try earlier next year.

Wow you did a ton. I'm pretty busy over here too. Inlaws are coming for a visit, so I'm cleaning some things I've neglected. The playroom looks like a tornado hit.
