I haven't started buying any school supplies yet, but I have purchased DS#3's shoes and some pants for him. I purchased 2 pair of shorts for DS#2.

I started last week of buying the kids clothes. We went to Kmart and put things on layaway. Did you know that you can put clearence items on layaway? So the summer clothing items are really cheap. What is also nice you can mail in your payment. Our Kmart is hour away so I just mail mine in. The last payment will be the big shopping day for us.

Hi there,
No school supply shopping yet..waiting for the aisles of supplies to show up at Walmart!
I have gotten a few things on clearance as far as clothing goes for both DD & DS. We buy summer clothes when they mark them way down. We live in Texas so we can wear summer clothes 11 months a year! By the time they mark winter clothes down in January its almost cold enough to wear them!

I'll start getting clothes for the twins after they come back from church camp at the end of July, I only had to pay $30 for each of them to go.
My dd(17) is going to visit family for the summer, grandma used her airmiles for the ticket and I paid $200 for the taxes. Ds(15) is going to cadet leadership training camp for 6 wks, they pay him. So I'll won't be able to buy their clothes until the end of summer.
I started buying supplies around xmas. A few of the stores had some really good sales like a geometry set for .50, 2 pk of scissors for .50, and 400 shts of looseleaf for .33. I also went through all their old binders and saved the ones in good condition.
I also talked to the twins teacher and asked for any supplies that they might be throwing out. The elementary schools here buy all the supplies and they are included in the fees, so at the end of the year alot of stuff gets thrown out, because they have labels on them. I just let the kids decorate the binders to cover the labels.
EF $703.21
STARTING DEBT $40,567.12
DEBT TO DATE $5,571.24

Hi Miss Thrifty,
I might get into the 30's here but only for a day or two the whole winter!! It is really hot here in the summer but I enjoy not having long winters.
Have a great day!
Tami
