Default Quit day is upon me...

So my official quit day is Saturday. For smoking that is. It came up fast!!! So I have my nicotine gum and some ideas for things to do besides smoke. I know that this time I'll be successful. I have been writing in a journal here about my day to day stuff and quitting smoking. That will be one thing on my list to do when I feel really strongly that I need to smoke. Thanks everyone in advance for your support!

Wishing you the best of luck. You will be so proud of yourself when you stop. I know I am proud of myself:1 year 7 months without a cigarette. It may be hard to do but it is so rewarding.

You can do it! For me what helped was finding something busy for my hands to do. I played with rubberbands, pencils and I think screwing and unscrewing the cap on a water bottle would help too and drinking lots of water.
Wishing you the best, I know you can do it Miranda!

Congratulations!!!!! You are beginning a very great new leaf for yourself!!! Don't take ONE PUFF! Not EVER!!! You will do great. I won't wish you luck because I don't think it's about luck. I think it's about the strength that comes with making the decision to stay alive instead of the decision to slowly make yourself sick. (can you tell I'm an ex-smoker?) Persevere and you will be successful. My thoughts are with you.

I quit a couple of weeks ago too. (Ok, I've "quit" lots of times, but this time I'm hoping it will stick!) Once you get past the first 3 days, it's not as bad. I keep Jolly Ranchers candy with me all the time and that helps some.

    Congratulations and good luck!

I'm done today. I went back to smoking after 5 years of being successfully smoke free. The biggest lure for me was that I know without a shadow of a doubt that I can drop 50lbs simply by smoking instead of eating. But, its not healthy, my son doesn't like it, and I can' afford to pay $$ to get sick!! So, I will be searching for some other weight loss solution or appetite suppressor that won't kill me.
I plan to take tylenol for the pain for the first few days. And keep busy with my never ending list of cleaning chores that need to be done around here!

Wow, Glad to hear that there are a lot of ex-smokers here! Yeah for being strong. It is about strength. I know that I can do it. (Heck this is my third time) But this time it will be forever. It has to be. For the $ savings, and my health. Thanks everyone for your input and support!!!

It's good so far. (only been awake for 2 hours) I'm having a Baby shower for my sister, so that will keep me occupied for most of the day. I'm feeling really confident. I have a huge list of things to declutter/clean if I really feel like smoking. So maybe I'll get a spotless house out of it. HA!!
