There are no stupid questions!
I guess the first thing to do would be decide if you want a blog to share w/ friends & family what is going on in your life or if you want a blog to talk about certain things. I have two blogs on Blogspot.com (just go there & register, they have great tutorials) that are for specific topics. One for needlecrafts and one for frugal food. But I also have one that's more like a journal that I use to communicate with friends and get feedback on stuff I'm going through. For that I use LiveJournal.com because I can control who sees what.

I think Heather pretty much summed it up. But basically you just talk about what ever you want to. Mine is about our journey through frugality, with recipes, etc.

I think what is wonderful about blogs is that it can be anything. If there is a particular topic you enjoy, you can focus blogging on that. I've seen blogs that are just casual thoughts like a journal and I've seen some that are specific themes or a combination of personal journal and on a particular theme.
The blog software we're hosting and making available soon, allows you to have privacy features, so you can set options on who (if anyone) can see your entries.
It's quite simple and a great way to have your own place on the web without needing any technical knowledge. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I had one back a few years ago.I started getting hateful emails...like when I said I was pregnant with Jayme and we thought we were done having kids....someone said some pretty nasty stuff to me. Like some people would give their right arm for a child and I was "complaining" because I was having ababy. I wasnt complaining...shocked, yes...but not complaining...I couldnt imagine life without her.Shes my lil princess.
I do have another I set up a few weeks ago,but I made one post and it said ..."test" ...thats as far as I got lol
