Default Do your kids have nicknames for each other?

When my girls were little they had trouble pronouncing certain words/names.

The oldest is Jessica (Jessi) and her little sister (18 months younger) has NEVER called her anything except *sister*. I guess she couldn't ever say Jessica right, so she thought *sister* was easier? And Jessi used to call Erin *Ano*....I guess Erin was hard for her to say. Even at 23 and 25, they still call each other by these names

Yes we are all about nicknames in our house. Dh is the biggest renamer. Kids, me, dogs (which by the way they answer to the few that they have), cars and heck even the remote. That one was renamed 'fazers' after Star Treck. Even good friends of our have earned new names. They with permission have graceously given him/us permission to use them.

I always called David "frog", when he was born he was 7lbs 1oz, but was almost 30 inches long!! He loved sleeping on his tummy with his legs pulled up to the sides of him, he looked like he was getting ready to leap.LOL. Anyway it just stuck, he's 15 now and 6'2" and only weighs 110lbs.

My 3yr old dd calls the twins "my boys". When they go out to play she wonders around wimpering "Where are my boys?" She knows their names I think she figure it's easier than saying Frank and Jake.

My older brother has always called me Brat. Younger brother called me Sissy when we were kids, shortened to Sis once we grew up. I was the only one with nicknames...not a clue why.

When my daughter was little she could not say brother so it became bubba and she still calls Nathan that most of the time. Her cousins all call her rina instead of Marina and I think she must like it because she started having people in school call her that last year.

My kids don't have nicknames for each other, but my brother and I did. I called him Boy after Boy in the Tarzan movies. He called me "Girl". After all these years, the name has stuck. I'll call my brother and say, "Hey, Boy" and he'll say "Girl"!! It's kind of like comfort food KWIM?
