Getting to know each other: Did you stay in the area you grew up in?
Did you stay in the area that you grew up in or did you move away and begin your adult life in a completely different area of the country? If you moved away do you at some point want to move back to your childhood area?
I grew up in northwest Oklahoma until I was a young teenager and then we moved to North Texas. I had always visited Texas in the summer and at holidays because my both of parents families were from there so when we moved back when I was in Jr High it was like moving to our second home. I actually consider both Oklahoma and Texas my home states.
I live about 25 miles from where I grew up in Texas and work in the same town I grew up in.
What about you....

Not too far from where I grew up. I'm about a 25 min drive away.
Kids started out in the town I grew up in until we wanted more land and a quieter self sufficient lifestyle and moved out of the village.~*Darlene*~

We lived in Corpus Christi until I was 10, then moved to the city I still live in now. So I guess I pretty much live in the same city and generally on the same side of town I grew up in.

I moved a BIG 60 steps from my parents. The land next to them went 4 sale the yr I graduated high school. We bought it and the rest is history. I've always lived in the rural area,12 miles from town...I'm no city girl. I like it here in the wide open space!

I live about 10 miles from where I grew up. Yep I would say I stayed in the area, just in the country instead of the city.

As of right now I'm not in the area I grew up in, but I'm planning on moving back closer to home. When I graduated college, I couldn't wait to get away from the state I grew up in. I moved from NW Alabama to SW Indiana, and now I'm in NW Florida (7 hours away from my family). I miss my family so much, as does my husband that as soon as I'm out of my work contract, I want to go much closer to home.

My dad worked for a major computer company and as you moved up the ladder, you transfered around the country. We lived in one place for 6 years, I do remember that. And, well, my husband is in the Air Force, so we've lived all over. I don't know if I would want to live in one place and never experience anything different. ***Not that I think there is anything wrong with people who do!!!!*** I know that one day we will settle down, but I think we're going to see everything there is to offer on our way!!!

I have never lived more than 10 miles from the house where I grew up. Our new house is about a mile away.

I, like christie_love, live about 60 steps from the house I grew up in. My parents gave us 4 acres and we built our house there. Both of my brothers are here, too. It's like we have a compound LOL!

No. I was born in Indiana, but moved to Florida when I was 17. I'm 50 and haven't left Florida. But when I retire, I want to go back to Indiana, buy a home and split my time between Florida and Indiana.
