Hubbys new toy and I got my baby back! (pics)
I had to send my poor Bessie in for surgury, lol, she needed a new clutch and new brake lines (I blew one in town a few weeks ago, good thing she's a stick shift, that was a FUN trip home!) So when we went to pick her up yesterday we looked around the lot, hubbies truck is a 94 with 200,000 miles and we were both getting nervous about his daily commute to work (we can't afford for him to drive the big truck) Hubby REFUSES to drive a car and DEMANDS a 4 wheel drive (and that's not the hill I want to die on, lol) so I've been pricing trucks the last few weeks and been choking on the prices! Man, they are NOT cheap even for older used one!
Well, this just happened to be sitting right in front on the lot, and it WAS supposed to be the sales "special" starting today, but we snapped it up before the ad came out in the paper. He's thrilled, I'm relieved and it won't change our insurance rates either!
It's a 99 extended cab ranger 4x4 with only 64,000 miles! The amazing thing is it cost the same as we paid for his old ranger in 99! In 99 we bought a 94 4x4 (not extended cab) with 83,000!
First my "girl" Bessie
She's a 94 crew cab dually with a powerstroke diesel and only 55,000 miles, she's not even broke in yet and will probably last me another 20+ years. She's faithful and BUILT LIKE A TANK, she even "ate" a small car a few years ago, totalled it and all that happened was her bumper is slightly bent. (I didn't do it!! Hubby did, he rear ended a neon doing about 10 miles an hour max, lol!)
BESSIE

And hubbies new truck "Matilda"

Yes, I tend to name everything, lol, our tractors are big Chuck, little John and Alice.

Looks so nice I am happy for you. Hey, don't go knocking those little Neons as some of you know I was rear ended recently and my little Neon is still on the road while her big ole luxury car is totaled.

LOL, shamefully admitting I STILL watch them most weeks, they've moved them to Sat. nights. They're doing a trip to Vegas with Dick Goddard and Kenny Crumpton in Sept and I'd just LOVE to go! Geez, is that corny or what?

corny is ok, LOL, wish we still had something like that here. I remember the morning movie on tv before I started Kindergarten, lol, that is how I came to be an old movie buff. When I had satellite tv my favorite channel was turner classic movies, just love old movies.
