Buying a house...
I wasn't sure where to post this, but I figured this would do.
I haven't been here much this week becuase my DH and I are buying a house! We have been super busy signing papers and such.
We are still waiting for them to accept after their counter offer and the change the requested. (it was just a change in wording) but I'm sure it will go through.
YEAH!!! I can't believe we're doing it. I'm so scared, though. Our rent is soooooo cheap and the house payment and taxes will not be.
But I think we'll still have room to save, but I'll for sure be using frugal recipes, no spend days, and tracking every penny to make sure we are saving as much as we can!
Thanks everyone, once again, without your inspiration and frugal ideas we would no be in a position to buy a house.

Congrats, Dragonfly! This is HUGE! I bought my first house last November and yep, it is scary but wonderful. I have been so fortunate with this place, and I am hanging in there using all the ips I get on Frugal Village, plus the constant motivation really helps!
Way to go!

That is great! We had a house built and we moved in, in October will be two years ago. It is a scary thing going into debt, but I am loving our house and I think it is worth it.

Yippee for you! You'll love having a place of your own. The debt stinks but it's a very good reason to get a grip on your finances, owning a home that is. Enjoy your new home.

Thanks everyone!!! Once we sign the final offer I'll post the floorplans. We are building it in a little subdivision in the suburb that I grew up in. =) I think being scared is part of buying a house for sure. We selected the colors, now we are kind of freaked about the color we chose for the counters. LOL. So I think before we sign anything final we are going to review our choices! Then we'll take pictures of our choices, to remind us that they are not that bad, and then I'll post those, too!!!
