No zucchini for me

I give up.
Just when I FINALLY get some zucchini growing, the damn plant just rots! The whole thing is rotted, the main stem, all the stems of the leaves, my precious baby zucchini

I went out there again today, now the entire thing is infested with flying things that look like fruit flies

Dangit.

But we do have tons of tomatoes!!

How frustrating. I've only gotten 2 so far this year. Tons of tomatoes too though

Ok, I don't know what it is with the zucchini this year

, but I suspect it is the copious amounts of rain

we have had this year. And to top it all off I have very healthy clay soil , which hold water beautifully. Lots of male flowers but not many females and now it looks like my plants are starting to rot too

. I only got one zucchini off three plants.

I have a lot of tomatoes too, just aren't ripe yet.
