Sigh. . . long weekend ahead
Well, this unemployment thing is just for the birds. I am actually going all day without speaking to another person, just my cat. On the bright side, my home is nearly finished. There were several projects I did not have time for that I have been getting done. I have:
- Painted the biggest wall in my stairway
- Stripped the hideous wallpaper in my upstairs hall and painted the walls
- Painted the trim and doors upstairs
- Sanded the hardwood floor in one room
- Redecorated my family room
- Cleaned out my basement
- Washed all the windows
- Polished all the woodwork
The list goes on and on and on and so does the solitude!!!!
I have been seeing this great guy who lives 12 hours away, and I was supposed to go for a visit this weekend, but now he has to work. He is scheduled for so many hours it would not be worthwhile at all. That has been my light at the end of the tunnel for 3 weeks. My kids won't be back til Monday.
Anyone got some cheese to go with this whine, lol?

Awww Karen, so sorry that you will be by yourself this weekend. Can you go for a walk or to the library or something? I know it doesn't replace the ones we want to spend time with, but might help break up some of the monotony.
Best Wishes!

Sorry the weekend isn't going to go the way you were hoping, make this a pamper yourself weekend. Do your hair, nails, give yourself a facial... the works. Then head out for an adventure with your sparkling pretty self. Go check out some local sights that you never have time for.

I too am sorry things aren't going as you had hoped. I agree with others, hit the library and check out a movie or 2. Take a bubble bath, give yourself a facial, manicure and pedicure. Make yourself a special meal. Make it a quiet, relaxing weekend.

I'm sorry that you're going to be alone. I wish you lived close enough to me to come on over! It sounds like you've been keeping yourself busy. I know that helps some. I agree with Darlene, pamper yourself!! You deserve it.

Wow! You have been so busy. I agree with everyone else...You deserve a good pampering!
After that I suggest a movie...maybe with the works! Buttered popcorn and a coke...milk duds for desert. Ok maybe not the milkduds but I think you should do something that you never get to do when the kids are with you.

Sending you hugs! I agree with the others. Pamper yourself after all the work you've done.

Thanks, ladies, for the excellent suggestions. I will do some of that stuff, for sure. My poor eyebrows need some pruning done, and I am sure there are other areas that need my attention too, lol. I am going to go to the library today and check out some books to carry me through the weekend, and I will see what kind of movies they have availiable. THen I thought I would tackle that last bit of wall on the stairway, I know I will feel better if all the visible parts that can be seen by company of my house are finished at long last.
This is nothing earthshattering, I am just being a whiner, lol. Thanks again for listening.
