    Lightbulb i was thinkin of selling....

    that snowflake afghan i almost done of in the next week or so on ebay. Its pretty big, cost me about $60 to make in yarn, and im not the fastest at crocheting but make sure its done right and all ends are well tucked in and crochted in. Hubby is going to need some winter outerwarer for work (construction) its fairly cold out here, and the work pants can cost $100 on sale. Thats not even the coat, but there is so much insulation in them, u never worry about freezing and Marks Work Ware House has them in the fall on sale. I wonder can i sell it for at least $130 - $140.?/

    WOW!! That's gorgeous. I'm not sure how much it would be worth though.

    You can try. I know as a quilter people expect me to give up my work for nothing. Not only does my craft cost money but my time is valuable to me and my family as well as the fact that when you create something you place a higher value on it than someone who is looking for something for "nothing". You put yourself into it.

    I say give it a try.

    Beautiful. I'm not sure if you could get that much on E-Bay or not. I would do some research to see if crocheted afghans are selling and what they are selling for. There is a site called www.etsy.com. This site sells only hand crafted items. You could check there also.

    Good luck!

    That is incredible! If I had money to spend, I would certainly spend that kind of money on such a lovely creation! Go for it!

    That is Beautiful.
    Wish I had the pattern
    People will not want to pay the price its worth thats for sure. My friend used to sell them for about $45.00 and I thought that was low. She just sold them for that as she had to always keep busy with her hands at night at work.
    Good Luck....

    Wow that is really pretty
    “When you get to the end of all the light you know
    and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
    faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
    you will be given something solid to stand on,
    or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
    there are signs that the world is speedily
    coming to an end;
    bribery and corruption are common; children no
    longer obey their parents;
    every man wants to write a book and the
    end of the world is evidently approaching.”

    Charlene,
    that snow flake afghan is about the prettiest I have ever seen. You did a beautiful job on it. I don't know what you could get out of it, but it is beautiful. Good luck!

    Ahhh...the beautiful snowflake afghan.

    You don't want to sell that- you want to give it to me! I remember last December the link for it got bumped up and my Mom made a "test" flake so she could show me how to do it. (I sorta' know how to crochet, but only simple stuff.)

    As for eBay, I also agree that you will probably not get what it is worth, BUT...that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. If you are willing to invest the listing fee and reserve fee knowing you may not recoup it (even though it shouldn't be too much) I'd go for it, or definitely look into selling it elsewhere.

    If I had any money, I'd definitely but it. I'm a snowman collector, and my family room is ice blue and whit, so in the winter, that would fit SO perfectly (which is why I wanted to make one myself- couldn't afford the yarn at the time, though.)

    Good luck!!!!

    I seriously doubt that you'd get your money's worth on ebay. Without being able to inspect the stitches and feel the weave, I think buyers would steer clear of spending a fair price.

    It IS beautiful in the photo. But I just don't think ebay could properly showcase it for you.

    I agree with the not being able to touch or feel it comment, but I have seen my SIL buy beautiful pageant gowns for her daughter off ebay, those things are $$$$$$ expensive!

    I think you should go for it. Ask for a "buy it now" price of $150.00 & you may be surprised!! Take numerous photos, up close & from afar, so people can see as much as possible & give it a description to die for!

    If you wait until September - November when people are really starting to shop for x-mas, I think you would have better luck than anytime soon.

    Just my opinion
