Thumbs up Finally making a dent in the unpacking

Well, for the most part all the boxes that can be unpacked are. There are still about 6 storage boxes of clothes that need to be washed and then gone thru to either give away or hold for a future yard sale. About the only thing that is still boxed are books and my scrapbook stuff as well as a few odds and ends that until we get some shelves put up in the garage will have to stay in boxes.

I got the storage space under the stairs nice and organized so everything can be gotten to if its needed again (baby furniture Paige has outgrown & and Christmas stuff marked and easy to access.)

All that's left are a few more boxes that belong in the kitchen one box of glasses that need to be ran thru the dishwasher and as soon as I get a little book shelf for Paige's room all her books (and some of mine) can be unboxed.

For the most part we can at least move more than a foot or two thru out the basement/garage withough tripping over a cardboard box.

Also, Joe got some picture holders and hung up some pictures around the LR & hallway last night and is putting up a door knocker today.

Good for you!!! I moved about a month ago and I still have about 4 boxes that I cannot seem to get motivated to unpack for the life of me.

When you start getting pictures put up you feel like you are pretty much at home.

Good for u!!! Feeling of accomplishment. I love the feeling i get when i get everything back to normal after moving, and fianlly up to par. I cant wait to this winter to get 3 more clear 106 gallon containers to put rest of items under the staircse with list on top of whats in them. i need to get rid of lots of smaller boxes and keep the fall stuff at front, then xmas ones, summer stuff will go to back shortly.

I think the worst part about moving is unpacking the boxes and trying find a place for everything. (Why does it always seem like our stuff has multiplied when we're trying to unpack everything?) It sounds like you're making great progress. Congratulations and enjoy your new home!

Sounds like you're coming right along! It's always such a good feeling to get things put away, and feel like you really start to make it home.

Great job AND you've hung pictures to make it feel more homelike! I've lived in this house for almost 6 yrs now and um...have yet to finish unpacking everything LOL But I still cant take to the idea of just tossing it w/o going through it first "just in case"

Again - Great job! Moving isnt easy!

LOL, I'm just the opposite I guess. I love to unpack and get settled in, but I hate to pack. Once I get everything in the house, I get started and I don't stop until everything, and I mean everything is put away. Depending on when I'm able to get started, I will stay up all night and all the next day until I'm done. LOL, I even manage to hang a few pictures.

Now packing is another story! It will take me forever to pack. I litterly hate it, Yuck!

Congrats on your new home. May you and yours share many happy memories within it's walls in the coming years.
