Default Interesting letter in the mail

I got a letter from a research company asking me to become a panelist for them. If I do it, they will give me a hand held scanner to scan the bar code of every item I buy. Then once a week, I transmit the information to them via internet or phone.

Has anyone heard of such a thing? Unless I hear bad reviews, I'm considering do it.

I've never heard of this, but look up the company with the Better Business Bureau. It does sound very cool. Do they have a 1800 number for you to send the info? Will it cost you anything?

Droppedonmyhead....I do this. It is shoppers hotline that I am with. I scan all my purchases each week. It sends it to them over our phone. I got a $50 American Express gift check from them once before. They are legit. I don't know which company sent you yours.

Well, according to their little brochure, I can transmit the data by internet. But yes, they do have a 800 number. The scanner would be sent at no cost to me. I just looked and it's called Shopper's Hotline and it says it's a member of the Better Business Bureau. I thought it sounded kind of interesting too.

Now that sounds cool! I think it would be fun to do this without having to do it like a survey.

That's who my company is, Droppedonmyhead. It does work. Did you read my previous post? There is no cost and if you need a new battery for the scanner, they send that to you. Occasionally they will send out a survey for you to do using the scanner, very quick and easy. You don't have to do the surveys, but you get bonus points for doing them. You build up points and then can redeem them...I am not sure they still do the gift cards like I got before, but they have some neat products you can get. I have a lot of points built up right now and I am going to be using them for Christmas. I also do MyPoints and have about 10,000 points on there right now. Going to cash that in for gift cards to use for Christmas also.

I do this to...Shoppers Hotline..been doing it for about a year or so...it's so easy, just scan everything you buy (if you remember) and your points add up and then you can cash your points in for gift cards.

I do this also for about a year now, but through another company. I transmit over the net once a week. Occassionally there is a short survey to answer for more bonus points. I almost have enough points now to get myself a new digital camera!

I did shopper's hotline, but I didn't scan for some period of time & I got cancelled. I liked it when I did it. I think I got target GC with my points and once, I WON $500 in a drawing. The only time I've ever won anything substantial.

    I say go for it!!
