    Iam excited about getting this!
I hope it will kick me in the butt to save more money on groceries.

I haven't read it. I heard it's a good read and motivating though. Will you share ideas with us from it?

I 'read' it, though it is sort of more of a picture book with very detailed captions.

It was really fascinating, but it doesn't really give tips on how to eat or cut bills or anything- it isn't an opinionated book, just an observation of how things are.

It was very eye-opening, though. If you are really socially concious, it may help for a while, but it isn't really practical to eat the way some of the people are forced to. For example, in refugee camps, families get oil, sugar, a tiny bit of dried goat, water, and a corn/soy blend. They spend only a dollar and change a week on food, and it is, of course, subsidized.

That is what I was looking for eye-opening. I want to see what others "live-on" opposed to what I think we need to "live-on". I know Iam in for a shocker.

It's definitely interesting to see what other people are spending. The families from the US (there are two) spend too much, IMO. Especially the family fro North Carolina- they spend a TON of money on convenience food. Their BEVERAGE budget is more than more whole food budget (weekly.)

And it is amazing what people in other countries spend. Food in other countries is more expensive, but the German family spends a FORTUNE. Again- so much of it toward beverages it is unreal. They also spend a small fortune on supplements, which they wouldn't need if they really paid attention to the nutrients and vitamins in their food.... (Because they do seem to eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies.)
