FV is getting into my system

I went to the family dollar store with a friend of mine this morning. She wanted to pick up some outdoor carpeting for her deck. I walked all over the store looking at things and saying, "This is a really good price for this. But with a coupon, it would be even better". I noted the prices of everyday items and would say, "Oh, I know I can get a coupon for that".

My friend just rolled her eyes and I noticed that when I started talking, she'd go to the other isle. . LOL! I was good though. Didn't buy a thing because I had no coupons. I plan on going back next weekend with coupons!!!!

Great job on not impulse buying and planning ahead! I find myself doing the same thing. Picking something up asking the want/need question, ultimately putting most things back. The more time I spend on this site and practicing my new "old" frugal ways the more it's becoming second nature. It used to be I couldn't see the forest for the trees but now my sights are set on the big picture. It's a good feeling to not be controlled by the need for "instant gratification".

I know what you mean dropped. The best part for me is that not only could I look at something and decide about a coupon or not, but the fact that I am becoming increasingly happy about staying home and working around the house, and not finding reasons to go to the store. In fact, my DD keeps coming to me saying we need so and so, and I tell her not till next week when I go to the store. LOL Then she wants to know if I can wait to go grocery shopping until she gets home from school. LOL I haven't made up my mind yet....
