Question I have an interview tomorrow!!!

Yesterday, a friend told me about a position that was open she felt would be perfect for me. She gave me his card & told me to tell him that she recommended me for the job. I called yesterday afternoon & when I hadn't heard from him, I decided to call him this morning. Good thing. Turns out he had wrote down my number wrong from the message I left (I was probably talking too fast like I do when I'm nervous).

Anyway, I have an interview tomorrow at 11:30am.
The position is for administrative assistant to a home loan consultant. A grown up job I WANT THIS JOB!

I'll take any & all pointers you can provide!!!
    TIA!

    Heather,

This is wonderful! You have already showed him that you are really interested in the job by calling back, so that's a great start. Just be yourself, try not to be too , and you will nail this interview. We are all here for you sweetie.

I've been an administrative assistant for most of my adult life. Now I'm the Executive Assistant to my company's President. I've never interviewed for a job that wasn't offered to me, because I'm good at what I do and I make that very clear to prospective employers. Here's my best piece of advice: During the interview, if you're asked about your best attributes or why you think you're the best person for the job, etc., mention that you are very resourceful. Employers understand that employees don't know everything about everything, but they want someone who can find out anything about anything.

    Heather,

I'm really excited for you. The only thing I would add is allow yourself lots of time to get to the interview and whatever you do, don't be late!! Wishing you the best of luck.

My advice is be confident in your abilities and let that shine through on the interview. I agree about stressing resourcefulness, every employer wants a "go-getter" that needs little direction. That's why they're hiring an assistant to take care of the little details so they can tackle the big jobs. Be yourself and you'll do fine. Good Luck!!

I just interviewed for and got a DREAMY job. What they said they liked best about my interviewing was that I asked questions. Don't see this as an interrogation of them VS you. Its a business conversation. You are interviewing them just as much as they are you. By asking lots of questions it shows you are interested in the job as much as the pay/benefits. Good luck!

The minute you get home take out a peice of beautiful, but professional stationary and write a thank you note, thank you for taking the time to see me, after our discussion I truley believe I can be an asset to your company, I find your policy of promoting from within refreshing ......Blah blah blah, touch on something specific to the company that was discussed. This is what I was told straight out cinched my current position with my agency when I was competing with masters level candidates.

If they ask for any negative qualities, turn it into a positive.

For example: "Well, I think my most negative quality is that I'm meticulous. It may take me a little long to do the job, but I want to be sure that it is done correctly, and make sure that I pay attention to the details."
