Default WAH -- I want to sell my house!

Dh and I have fallen in LOVE with a house in a gorgeous neighborhood. Its in the price range that we decided on BUT -- we are just getting our house prepared to hit the market so its for sure driven us into overdrive. Wondering how long it usually took people to sell their houses -- and hoping this house waits for us!

I hope it works out like you want.
It all depends I have seen houses sell in less then 2 weeks and others that are for sale for 6 months all depends on the area......

    Good luck!!

Our house just went on the market on Sunday and it's driving me nuts how clean I need to keep this house!!! So far we've had one showing. Good luck. Houses around my neighborhood (in NH) aren't moving too quickly--a couple of months atleast.

We sold our house in ten days in 2004 in our city.

My FIL's house took almost three months to sell in 2002 in the next town.

I think it all depends on the neighborhood and the market at the time. With our house, we didn't think it was ready.... we planned to do some painting and stuff... but the real estate agent assured us that it was fine. He was right- we had quite a few showings and got a good offer quickly.

It depends on the demand and asking price. In our city, the real estate market isn't exactly booming, but a 3 bedroom bungalow with a basement and garage will usually be sold within 2 weeks.
We're looking at houses right now, and I find the biggest turn off in a house is clutter. If you have too much clutter, like overstuffed shelves, etc, it makes the room look smaller, and it gives the impression that there is not enough storage for all of the stuff. Just an idea incase you're a packrat like me

I agree with the others I think it just depends on your area and what buyers are looking for. We get letters from realtors all the time because of the area we live in. We just got a brand new high school, middle school and elementary that is within walking distance and plus it is a kid neighborhood. Its kind of odd we live in the country but we got a brand new schools, but they say because its a township. We were going to sell this year, but have decided to wait two more years until our son has graduated college.
I hope the home you have sells fast and that the other is there waiting for you.
    Good luck

I agree. It depends on the market and demand. My mom just sold her house and it took over 8 months, but around here there are a lot of homes for sale. Of course another thing to remember is curb appeal. That makes a first impression that can make or break a deal too.
