crappy ford truck...venting
dont anyone evr buy a 2002 ford extenible cab, 1/2 ton truck. It crap!!!!Yet another problem agin with it, our garge man thinks its the starter. Whoever owned this truck(1 owner) never put any parts on it when he bought it, nevr changed oil, never dod anything then just bought or leased new one right after. Thats what the guy said when he forst took alook at it. Now were paying big time every 3 weeks or so, fixing something. we payed $15,000 something before taxes. Well it wasnt worth it.
Hubby says hes going to lease a brand new one, hes tired of second hand rigs, and the money we keeping putting out on parts and gas. We pay almost $500 amonth to the bank, we could be leasing or to own a new car for that price.

So sorry you're having problems with it, shame on the old owner for NOT keeping up on maintenance, that makes all the difference in the world. We've had a total of 6 ford trucks now and never had any problems other than the regular "old truck" syndrome, things like brake lines going out, but at 13 years old. I drive a 94 crew cab dually and we just bought hubby a 99 extended cab ranger 4x4.
Hope things go more smoothly for you after this repair.

My fil had a brand new fordF150 and it rusted within 2 years,he sold it to my sil and they always have it in the garage for something or other.
Its the joke in the family because we have a 10 year old Dodge Ram and it looks newer and runs better than the Ford lol
Hope you can get it fixed and it gives you no more problems

LOL, aww, and I was gonna tease you that we always say "if ya can't dodge it ram it" around here, lol!
Actually in our area most people treat trucks well, regular maintence and upkeep, there are a LOT of older trucks in our area, a lot of people run them to 200,000 miles or more, we just sold our 94 ranger with 199,000 to a neighbor and he's thrilled with it.

I have a Dodge Durango I hate!!!! It has been a huge piece of crap (only 70,000 miles and already new engine, three window gears had to be replaced, wheel bearings - or something like that- had to be replace, 3rd set of tires, rear heater/ac quit working) but I am glad to hear some actually had good luck with their Dodge vehicles.DD (19)

Sorry to hear about the problems with your truck, hopefully you will get everything worked out. We had a Ford thunderbird about 5 years ago and everytime we turned around it needed something done to it. Finally got rid of it and got a Chrysler New Yorker and the only thing we have ever replaced is the thermostat. My son had a Ford Probe and you guessed it we put about $4000 in it and finally gave up and sold it and bought him a Honda DX and haven't had any problems so far. I had a ford Ranger and I never had any problems with it. Now we have the Durango and so far nothing. I sometimes think it just depends on the car itself. My dad used to say don't buy a car made on a Monday or a friday. People are upset to come back to work on Monday and Friday they are in a hurry to get out the door. I don't know if thats true. Just always remembered it.

Actually Frugalnana I've heard the same about purchasing vehicles and checking the dates they're made.
There are problems with any vehicles, we had a chevy S10 we bought brand new that would just STOP running for no reason, happened many times to hubby on the highway! We took it in again and again and they could never find anything wrong with it. We took it to Ford and traded almost even up for the cutest little BRIGHT RED Ranger flare side that never gave us a lick of problems, that was our last chevy!
Oh, and see we say "fastest on race day" LOL!

I love my Toyota Corolla. We have driven it 70,000 trouble free miles so far, with only oil changes, new tires, battery, basic maintenence. Nothing major.
