"Escapee"
Hi Everyone,
First off, here are the answers to the questions in the sticky:
How did you hear about frugal village? A member at another frugal site (can't remember her nickname though!!! Sorry!)
What interests you here? I'm trying to live a more frugal lifestyle and have purposely left a previous site I was a member on as comments were being made that hurt people's feelings and when I suggested the comment was unnecessary I was told I was "just looking to be offended". I was told that this site was a lot more inclusive so I thought I would fit in better here. I'm hoping that I'll be able to continue getting ideas to apply to my own life to increase my savings and learn how to better manage my spending. My family consists of spendthrifts who will eventually have debt problems but until then, see no issues with their lifestyle.
Do you know any other members here? Yes, but again, I can't remember her name.
How many kids? Ages? Um...none, I'm still single but I like kids.
Tell us about yourself. lol...I don't want to get myself into trouble here...I'm a university graduate, single, female, live in a small-ish town because rent is cheap and I can't afford to live anywhere near my place of work (so I have to commute...not fun). I work as a "Pension Plan Administrator", meaning I make sure that companies are paying the right amount of pension contributions and I make sure retirees get what they are owed. I'm a little TOO involved with volunteering so I find myself with NO time on a regular basis. I had wanted to be a lawyer my whole life, worked hard to get into the good graces of senior partners at several national law firms, was accepted into law school then realized, I really didn't want to spend my life the way my lawyer friends did. Yes, they are all extremely rich now but when they were young they literally lived at the office and I won't allow myself to give up the rest of my life for work.
Do you own any pets? 2 cats, Panther and Boston (Boston should actually count as two cats he's so big)
SAHM or Working mom? neither but I hope to stay at home at least during the early years when I have children
Married or single? Single (oh so very, very single) but I don't have time to date right now and most of my friends (and their friends) are married so it's getting a bit harder for me to meet guys.
Interests and hobbies? Knitting (poorly), reading, camping when I get time off, travelling, letterwriting to my grandparents, volunteering (which I'm beginning to wind down now since I'm too stressed out). I am really interested in farming and would love to have a little "hobby farm" when I'm older, just enough to sustain myself and my family but realistically, at the moment I'm a city slicker and probably would starve to death if I didn't have access to a grocery store.
I'm extremely open, so if you have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them. I'm really excited to be here as it means I will still be able to get help from frugalites when I need it!!!
