New Here
Hello!
I wanted to introduce myself. I am 47 and DH is 53. We have 4 daughters aged 29 (DSD), 22, 16 and 14. DH is a graduate student and teaches classes at the University. I am a librarian and work 2 part time jobs. I am trying to get a full time job.
We have lived frugally since I found out I was pregnant with DD #4. I switched to part time work then. I am still looking for ways to be frugal and not feel deprived.
We switched to a cash only system over a year ago and are working to get out of debt and build retirement. If I get a full time job where I currently work, we will move closer. Right now our energy is being poured into saving for a down payment on a house since we currently rent.
I am glad I found this forum. I love the signatures that tell everyone where you are in your debt/savings/spending plans. I wanted to know about the penny and change jars. What are they used for? Are they used for your current debt or savings things? How often are they counted? Thanks

Welcome to the village! As for the penny & change jar challenges, I think different people decide to use their money differently as far as debt or savings or whatever. I'm sure someone who is currently participating in these challenges will be able to provide you with more info.

Hello & Welcome! As for our change jar. We usually use it for some extra spending money on vacations. We usually cash it in about once a year.
