    Default I lost it!

Recently the gals in the break room have been working on needle work and sharing projects. One of the ladies brought in a pair of kniting needles and yarn and left it on my desk. I mistakenly thought it was a gift, took it home and tried it out. then she tells me the needles were her mothers and she needs them back. I have lost one of the needles!! I've searched the house several times over and cannot find them anywhere. I am so upset that I cannot return them. i don't know what to do! I even searched Walmart to see if they had an identical pair, of course they don't. I hope they turn up so i can show my face in the break room again!

Gosh, what a bad position to be put in. When I've lost things before, I've prayed and sometimes I could find them. Did you use them in the house or see them there (to make sure one didn't fall out in the car or yard)? If you saw them both in the house, then you know the other one has to be there. Don't let anyone throw out trash or anything until you have time to look further.

If it doesn't show up, all you can do is sincerely say you're sorry (even though this wasn't your fault. She should not have put them on your desk).

I will say a prayer for you that you find the other needle.

I agree with Autumn, but this is not really your fault. Maybe you could do a search online to see if you can find one to match. Can you post a picture of the one you have on here?

I know it sounds superstitious, but you will frequently find me wandering around my house muttering the old rhyme: "Tony, Tony, look around, something's lost and must be found". It's an old prayer to Saint Anthony, the Patron Saint of Lost Objects. Sounds crazy, but I swear it works. Even my non-religious DH does it now and has told friends to do it. It's never failed me yet!

I pray to Saint Anthony, sounds silly, but it works!

I've never heard about praying to Saint Anthony. I'll have to try it next time I lose something. Do you suppose it works for non-Catholics as well?

Wishing you the best of luck. I hope you find it! I'll have to try the St. Anthony prayer as I'm always losing stuff!

I have tons of knitting needles of my mother and my grandmother - what size, what color and what shape is the end where the number is, if I can match it would be glad to mail it to you.
