    Default Cleaning Toilets

I know this isn't a very pleasant subject, but I've got to find a better way. We have really hard water here and I just hate water stains and rust. I'm presently using the Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner, but it just doesn't work as well as I would like it.

I cleaned my bathroom today and left some solution in the bowl to keep working, but it's really hard to get it clean. I do clean it very often. I've even had to use a pumice stone to get marks off. I put flat soda in, but that doesn't help.

Do you ladies have any ideas that work for you. I would really like a frugal solution if possible.

    Thanks,

I use bleach gel. We've never had hard water, so I don't know if it would work to get those kinds of stains out, but I usually put the gel under the rim or on the stains to sit over night, then I get a scour sponge (from the dollar store), put on my rubber gloves, and go crazy.

Good luck gettting your stains out, cleaning the bathroom is never fun.

Do you get the water out first? We have hard water here too. I dump a bucket of water into the toilet to make all the water drain, then apply the cleaner (sno-bowl? think that's the name) & let it stay for as long as possible til scrubbing. Other cleaners don't seem to work.
Is CLR something for use in hard water stains?

Thanks for the ideas. I'm going to try them all until I find one that works! I'll let you know. Thanks again.

I am on a well and have hard water with a lot of iron in it. I find vinegar the best cleaner I have found. Dump a cup or two in before you go to bed and will clean easily the next day - at least mine does.

I love CLR in my washer but never thought about the toilet.
I have sulfur and iron in our well water.

We have hard water too & the rust loves my bathroom. I only do this when it gets to the point where the stain won't come off with reg brushing-I agree with whomever empties the toilet first, that gives a nice dry surface for the cleaner to do it's thing. I then use The Works on it.You can actually watch the stain dissapear before your eyes.

I have hard water too, but rust doesn't seem to be an issue for me. I like "The Works" for cleaning my toilets.
